There are numerous examples to show that initiatives developed without the input of the poor do not work for the poor. 2015 marks the year of evaluation of the Millennium Development Goals (education, health, the environment etc.), the aim of which is to eradicate poverty. One question springs to mind: "Were those most difficult to reach associated with the policies and programmes set in motion, bringing their input and experience to the table, thereby enabling everyone to be included?" For three years now, International Movement ATD Fourth World has run a research/action participatory project, involving people living in extreme poverty, in order to analyse the impact of the millennium development goals on those most affected by extreme poverty.
