Unleashing creativity

People in extreme poverty possess creativity and skills that can be a powerful source for change, at a personal and a communal level. However, the conditions of living in extreme poverty rarely allow people to develop their creativity. The insecurity that is experienced daily, and the constant struggle for food, work, and dignity, alienate people in poverty from the pleasures of art, culture, and opportunities to create beautiful things. Acknowledging their creativity and these skills is fundamental towards overcoming extreme poverty.
