By getting together, we are changing the world

Geneva, 2009. Children from the Tapori network (tapori.org) and adults living in extreme poverty, from North and South, have engaged in a dialogue with the United Nations as active partners, discussing the issues that the world must face, from human rights to extreme poverty, including environmental issues and peace building.
Twenty-five children and fifteen adults from Bolivia, Burkina Faso, the Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Haiti, Ireland, the Philippines, Poland, Mauritius, Switzerland and the United States of America spoke on behalf of people around the world who, far beyond the diversity of their respective experiences, share the same story - the eradication of poverty.
This meeting with officials of the High Commission for Human Rights should allow them to influence decisions on the future implementation of policies, notably in the context of the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals.
