2013: Events in Europe are spinning out of control. The effects of the financial crisis are ever more visible. There is talk of increased vulnerability, of threats to the stability of our lives. But what about all those people, those families, who have lived from hand to mouth for generations? Now more than ever, those families are trapped by measures at European and national level which exact the greatest efforts from the poorest sectors of society. Why not make it a priority to ensure that we all stand together, shoulder to shoulder, as one?
This is an interview with Isabelle Perrin, Director General of the International Movement ATD Fourth World, who helps us understand how the economic and institutional crisis sweeping Europe offers an opportunity to get everyone involved and to open up channels for dialogue and decision-making that are entirely new.
"When the choice is made not to abandon anyone, everyone wins." (Isabelle Perrin)
